RE: NMCB 3 2019 Reunion Hotel and Agent Orange Silver Rose Application Info:

Hello to all my fellow Seabees:

I hope everyone is doing well and all of you and your families have a very Happy Holidays.

Although our Seabee Reunion is still several months away, now is the time to begin planning and making your reservation for the October 3rd thru October 7th , 2019 Tucson, Arizona Reunion. This reunion we will have a “Meet and Greet” combined reunion with NMCB 8.

This will be our 20th Annual Reunion.  It has been almost 50 plus years for a lot of us since we came home. As time goes by, ever so quickly, we all need to take the time and the opportunity to stay in touch with each other whenever possible.

This year we will be holding our Reunion at the:

Desert Diamond Casino & Hotel

7350 Nogales Hwy

Tucson, Arizona, 85756

877-777-4212 or 520-342-3012

Refer to NMCB-3 VRA Reunion room block

The rate this year will be $119 per day plus tax of 12.5% and a $2.00 per day occupancy tax. There will be rooms available that will be for $129 plus tax of 12.5% and a $2.00 per day occupancy tax. The price difference is to allow all of us to be located on the fourth floor where all our activity rooms will be. This will make it convenient for as it will be just a short walk down the hall from your guest room to the hospitality room/banquet room. There is to be a $10 per person per day food credit, (up to 2 food credits per room per day), to be used in any of their dining restaurants. The Hotel provides a complimentary airport shuttle to Tucson International Airport. which runs from 6:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. Hotel parking is free for regular vehicles. There is a complimentary shuttle to and within a 5-mile radius, subject to availability.

We have a limited number of rooms for three days before and after the reunion dates of October 3rd to October 7th. You can reserve these at the special group rate. If the rooms at the special group rate are no longer available, because you didn’t reserve yours soon enough, then you may have to pay a higher rate. It pays to reserve yours as soon as possible.

I have enclosed the application for the Silver Rose Medal. Please fill out and send to the address listed. Along with any documents they ask for and proof of your aliments caused by Agent Orange. You don’t need to have VA proof just a Doctor’s. We will be having a presentation of this award to those qualifying during our reunion. The members of the Legion of the Silver Rose would be honored to present it to us.

As you can see, please get this information to all those you may know who have passed away due to these diseases.

The mission of the Legion of The Silver Rose is to recognize the Courage, Heroism, and Contributions of American Service personnel found to have been exposed to Agent Orange in a Combat Zone, whose exposure resulted in internal, invisible wounds which are revealed only by passage of time.  The Department of Veterans Affairs recognizes over 60 cancers and sicknesses, including Diabetes, as Agent Orange related and “service connected”.  The Legion of the Silver Rose hopes to see every Veteran exposed to Agent Orange given the Honors and Recognition they deserve.  Until the day arrives that our own Government decides to honor these victims, the Legion of the Silver Rose will continue to offer their Silver Rose Award to all eligible Veterans or their surviving loved ones.
